Scream! is a live album by the Potsdam band Subway to Sally , released in 2000 by BMG / Ariola . This is a recording of ten concerts from the band's "Wedding Autumn Tour 1999". The recording period was from October 14 to 23, 1999, the recording locations were Halle, Biberach, Karlsruhe, Dortmund, Übach-Palenberg, Mainz, Braunschweig, Leer, Lauterbach and Erfurt.

particularities

Scream! was the only Subway-to-Sally album on which "Horo" can be heard - a mouth music song, about the creation of which there are several theories (as well as several text versions) about the origin of the nude CD / DVD . According to Eric Fish, this type of music originated after the Scots were denied their own culture by the royal rule of the English in the Middle Ages and were regarded as heretical . This included playing traditional instruments, especially the bagpipes . These were then replaced by "Mouth Music", i.e. the singing of the notes. However, text is also sung here. However, there is no uniform version of this song published by the band.

The title of the album comes from one of Subway to Sally's concert traditions: To get the audience in the mood (or to get the audience going) during a concert, Eric Fish repeatedly calls on the audience to scream with the words "And the scream!" Times is answered with. “The scream” is explained every time by Eric Fish: “For all of you who are with us for the first time: A scream comes here (hold on the heart), here (hold on the stomach), here (hold on Made), and not here at all (grip on the head) ... "

Scream! is also the last work of the band on which singer Eric Fish can still be seen with long hair. Furthermore, this album represents the end of the contract with BMG / Ariola.

illustration

The scream! Album was recorded after the wedding album was released and on the accompanying tour. Therefore, the live album is optically matched to this, i.e. H. the element of the red-black, cloud-shrouded sky returns here. The cover shows the first row of a concert by the band at Wacken Open Air in front of this very sky.
