The Waldbühne on the Hardt is an event location in Wuppertal . The open-air stage is located on the grounds of the Hardt Landscape Park in the Elberfeld district .

The stage on the southwest slope of the "Hardt" elevation is located in a small valley and offers space for around two thousand spectators. The valley is formed by a former quarry and is protected as a geological natural monument. The quarry was used for paving streets and building houses in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Todays use

In the past, Silbermond , Al Jarreau , Element of Crime , Fury in the Slaughterhouse , The BossHoss , Samy Deluxe , Sido , Harris and the Höhner performed on the tent-roofed stage .

But also theatrical performances such as a production of “ The Rocky Horror Show ” by the theater in Cronenberg took place here. On May 17, 2003, as part of the “Master of Chess” tour, a live radio play by Die Drei ??? instead of. Since 2003, a music festival of medieval rock in connection with a small medieval market has been held here every year in the last week of August under the name "Feuertal Festival" .

Due to the limited capacity of the Waldbühne, the number of visitors will not exceed around 2500.

Hardt Open Air Festival

The Hardt Open Air Festival has been taking place there since 2015, a three-day festival of different music styles with free entry, organized by the Wuppertal event forge.
