Isaak Keller
Isaak Keller also Isaak Cellarius (* 1530 in Basel , † 1596 in Reichenweier ) was a Swiss medic and from 1553 to 1579 professor in Basel.
biography
Isaak Keller was the stepson of Simon Grynaeus from his marriage to Katharina Keller, nee. Lompart. He began his studies in Basel, where he received a master's degree in philosophy in 1550 . In 1552/53 he studied medicine in Montpellier. From 1553 to 1579 he was a full professor of theoretical medicine at the University of Basel . In 1559 and 1569 he was rector . When in 1579 the misappropriation of funds from the St. Petersstift was proven, he fled Basel. Nicolaus Taurellus held his lectures as a substitute .
Keller married Anna Höcklin von Steinegg around 1555 .
