The Verkehrsgemeinschaft Oberallgäu (abbreviated: VG OA or VGOA ) is a corporate association of all bus companies that operate regular services in the southern half of the Oberallgäu district . It was founded in 1995 and has been coordinating the timetables and tariffs of the bus operators involved ever since . Since then, there has been a binding collective tariff for all members, which means that single tickets can also be purchased for trips with several companies. A classic distance tariff (kilometer-based tariff) is used. The rail transport in the transport field of VG OA is with local trains of the DB Regio AG and alex operated. However, this is - with the exception of the Oberallgäu-Ticket - not included in the community tariff, which is why VG OA is not a real transport association (there is also no independent association, but only an association contract between the companies involved).

Traffic area

The VG OA covers the southern area of the Oberallgäu district, while the Kempten transport association (VK) is responsible for the northern half of the district (and also for the independent city of Kempten, which is completely enclosed by the Oberallgäu district ) . The division of the Oberallgäu district in this regard is historical. The traffic area of the VG OA includes exactly the former district of Sonthofen while the traffic area of the VK exactly covers the former district of Kempten (Allgäu) and the urban area of Kempten. However, there is no direct connection with the regional reform, because the two old districts of Kempten and Sonthofen were merged to form the Oberallgäu district as early as 1973 (i.e. 22 years before VG OA was founded and 19 years before VK was founded ).
