The Upper Palatinate North Tariff ( TON ) is a collective bargaining agreement for bus transport in northern Upper Palatinate that was launched on January 1, 2011. He succeeded the Verkehrsgemeinschaft Tirschenreuth (VGT) , the Nahverkehrsgemeinschaft Weiden-Neustadt (NWN) and the Verkehrsgemeinschaft Amberg-Sulzbach (VAS) . The local transport associations and special-purpose associations mentioned above still exist.

Tariff area

The TON includes the districts of Tirschenreuth , Neustadt ad Waldnaab , Amberg-Sulzbach and Schwandorf as well as the independent cities of Weiden in the Upper Palatinate and Amberg . Individual lines breaking into the Upper Palatinate from Middle Franconia and Upper Franconia also belong to this tariff community. A total of ten bus companies joined forces in this tariff.

Tariff

The tariff includes all bus lines in the tariff area and is honeycomb-based. Single, multi-trip and season tickets are offered. The BahnCards 25 and 50 are recognized for single runs with a uniform discount of 25%. The Bahncard 100 is valid as a ticket for DB Ostbayernbus ; other companies recognize it as with a 25% fare discount. The Jugend-Bahncard is recognized on school days from 9:00 a.m. Students of the Amberg-Weiden University of Applied Sciences have the opportunity to purchase a semester ticket.

The tariff area of ​​the TON partially overlaps with other transport associations , especially in the rail traffic not covered by the TON . In the Amberg-Sulzbach district, for example, the tariff of the transport association for the greater Nuremberg area applies , in the Schwandorf district the tariff of the Regensburger Verkehrsverbund , as well as the tariff of the Cham transport association for trips into and out of the Cham district .
