The Verkehrsgemeinschaft Rottal-Inn (abbreviated VGRI ) is a transport association founded in September 1997 in the Rottal-Inn district with its seat in the district town of Pfarrkirchen .

history

The VGRI was founded in September 1997 by nine bus companies operating in the Rottal-Inn district. In 2002, the Südostbayernbahn, the only railway company operating in the district, joined the association.

scope

The network covers the area of the Rottal-Inn district with an area of 1280 km² and a population of 118,800 people (as of December 31, 2007).

The VGRI comprises 35 bus routes and the following two railway lines: The section of the Rottalbahn between the stations of Massing and Bayerbach and the short section from Julbach to Simbach am Inn on the Munich – Simbach railway line .

Tariff

The VGRI tariff includes all trips by bus or train within the Rottal-Inn district. The only exceptions are journeys in the market town of Bad Birnbach and on the privately operated Diepoltskirchen – Hebertsfelden bus route.

The tariff area has been divided into honeycombs since September 1, 2002. The number of combs used determines the price level for the different single tickets, multi-journey tickets and season tickets. Since then, the tariff has also been valid on the two railway lines within the tariff area. A discount of 25% is granted when purchasing and using single tickets with Bahncard 25 or Bahncard 50. The Bahncard 100 is recognized as a ticket.

For trips beyond the tariff area, the house tariffs of DB Ostbayernbus and DB AG usually apply .
