The regional bus Augsburg GmbH (short: RBA ) is a bus company in Bavaria , based in Augsburg . It serves regional and overland lines in the southwest and central Bavarian region between Altmühl and Lake Constance with the Swabian administrative district , the northern part of the Upper Bavarian administrative district and some neighboring districts. The focus is on the regions around the cities of Augsburg, Dillingen , Donauwörth , Eichstätt , Ingolstadt , Kempten ( Verkehrsgemeinschaft Kempten ), Lindau , Marktoberdorf and Neu-Ulm . In addition, the RBA is involved in the city bus systems of various cities as an operator or subcontractor .

history
In 1989 the bus services of the Deutsche Bundesbahn and the Deutsche Bundespost in Swabia (except the Allgäu) and in northern Upper Bavaria were brought into a private company, the RBA Regionalbus Augsburg GmbH.
In 1992 the shares in the company were taken over by BVS Busverkehr Schwaben Beteiligungs GmbH, a consortium of local, private bus operators and local authorities .
From 1994 to 2010 the RBA operated the Lindau city bus . This was taken over by the city of Lindau itself as part of an in-house award with the establishment of its own company.

As a subsidiary of Regionalbus Augsburg GmbH, Schwabenbus GmbH operates bus services in the Dillingen area .
Since January 2016, Schwabenbus GmbH has been serving a number of routes in the context of the Europe-wide public transport tender in the Augsburg Transport and Tariff Association (AVV). For this purpose, four solo buses and three articulated buses were purchased in accordance with the new AVV guidelines. Another ten solo buses followed in August 2016 in accordance with the AVV. At the moment, buses from the RBA are still in use, which are provided to Schwabenbus GmbH. At the end of July 2016, Schwabenbus ended its order traffic from AVV in the Kissing - Mering area and in Königsbrunn, as this was due to the tender in the AVV to DB Regio Bus Bayern GmbH (DRB) and Staudenexpress GmbH (Baumeister Reisen, Markt Wald / Allgäu Airport Express , Memmingerberg / HZ Linienverkehr GmbH Fischach) fell.
In May 2017, Schwabenbus handed over its transports in the so-called Holzwinkel around Welden and Neusäß to the Demmelmair company from Friedberg based on a tender . Most of the time, however, regional buses from Egenberger Reisen are used in order transport (cooperation agreement).
In December 2017, Schwabenbus won the Wertach02 bundle as a result of a tender. Eight solo cars and four articulated buses of the Daimler-Benz Citaro LE Step 3 type were procured for these lines.
From March to September 2018, the rail replacement service was operated in the districts of Unterallgäu and Ravensburg. Schwabenbus took over all train connections for DB Regio Bayern on the Buchloe - Leutkirch route. In addition to eight own vehicles, Schwabenbus also used rented vehicles from the RBA. In addition, many contract companies were used: Gairing Omnibusverkehr (Neu-Ulm), Stuhler Reisen (Schwabmünchen), Baderbus GmbH (Böhen), BBS Brander (Unterällgau / Ottobeuren), Heinz Schneider (Landsberg a. The former bus company Hans Pflügler GmbH was sold to Regionalbus Augsburg GmbH in September 2010. Until May 2011, the Pflügler company operated its own depot in Schondorf am Ammersee. After the depot was closed, the buses are now available for rent from a company.
After the old Rauschenberg site was demolished, the Schondorf am Ammersee site no longer exists. Antitrust proceedings in 2016 and 2017 (not yet completed)
On August 4, 2017, it became publicly known that investigations by the public prosecutor were being carried out on suspicion of agreements relevant to antitrust law in tenders against the RBA, its shareholders and other affiliated companies.
