The DB Regio Bus Bayern GmbH (DRB) and the DB regional transport Bayern GmbH (RVB) are Omnibus - transport companies in Bavaria , a wholly owned subsidiary of DB Regio AG and belong to the division DB Regio Bus . They operate various bus routes in Franconia , Upper Bavaria and Swabia as well as a trip request center for the control of flexible operating modes in Nuremberg . The aim of DRB and RVB is to place competitive offers in Bavarian public road transport. DRB and RVB appear on the market under the brand name DB Busverkehr Bayern .
history
The predecessor company Werner Nickel Omnibusunternehmen GmbH in Zirndorf , which was later taken over , was founded in 1990. The roots of its predecessor companies even go back to 1954, when the Karl Nickel company was founded.
The company itself was founded on June 15, 2009 as DB Regio Nahverkehr Vier GmbH , based in Frankfurt am Main . On February 24, 2010, the company was renamed DB Stadtverkehr Bayern GmbH and its headquarters were moved to Nuremberg . On March 1, 2010, the company's headquarters were again relocated to Coburg .
On December 10, 2010, the line bundle won as part of a tender was put into operation in the eastern district of Erlangen-Höchstadt and the southern district of Forchheim . Buses from DB Frankenbus and some subcontractors operated on behalf of the then DB Stadtverkehr Bayern GmbH (today DB Regio Bus Bayern) on lines 209, 210, 211, 213 and 225 of the transport association Greater Nuremberg (VGN). In 2014 the lines were then transferred to DB Frankenbus .
On August 24, 2012 the company changed its name again to DB Regio Bus Bayern GmbH .
On March 1, 2013, the company took over Werner Nickel Omnibusunternehmen GmbH from Zirndorf and operated city and school buses in Zirndorf / Oberasbach / Stein / Fürth in the Fürth district until the timetable change in December 2018.
In 2015, the sister company DB Regionalverkehr Bayern GmbH was founded with headquarters in Munich .
On December 13, 2015, various line bundles won in tenders went into operation:
- Würzburg district : Lines 191/450; Management by the municipal company of the district of Würzburg
- District of Roth : together with DB Frankenbus , lines 602, 603, 610, N60 as well as partly 5658 in Nuremberg and partly 6280 in the district of Roth on behalf of DB Frankenbus
- District of Munich : Lines 240, 242, 243.
As early as January 1, 2016, the next line bundle won in the context of a tender was put into operation in the Aichach-Friedberg district on lines 227, 227AST, 305, 306, 314, 315, 316, 317. A few days later - on January 8, 2016 - the school bus service to the Montessori School Neubiberg in the city and district of Munich began, and school bus services for the Neukeferloh elementary school in the Munich district followed on February 22, 2016 .
On March 9, 2016, DRB and RVB moved their headquarters to Ingolstadt , which was followed by the move to the headquarters there on July 15, 2016.
The next start of operations after winning the tender followed on August 1, 2016 in the Aichach-Friedberg district : Lines 100, 102, 103, 103AST, 104, 106, 108; Joint license with Z-Mobility Werner Ziegelmeier GmbH , management by the DRB .
The school bus service for the Rehling elementary school in the Aichach-Friedberg district then began on October 12, 2016.
With the timetable change on December 11, 2016, additional lines were put into operation after winning the tender:
- District of Erding : Line 531
- Starnberg district : Lines 904, 961, 974, 975
- District of Freising : Lines 680, 681, 682, 683, 684; Community license; Operation is carried out by the companies DB Oberbayernbus and Bayernbus GmbH .
- Fürth district by DB Frankenbus : Lines N21, N24 on their behalf
- Takeover of operatorship on the line 376 Bayreuth - Hollfeld in the district of Bayreuth by RVB , since operation of the line on behalf of DB Frankenbus or on their behalf by the company miracle.
On May 1, 2017, after winning the tender, the operation of a line bundle in the district of Dillingen and Augsburg began : Lines 401, 402, 415.
On lines 505 and 568 ( Erding district ), part of the service was taken over on behalf of DB Oberbayernbus from November 13, 2016 to December 7, 2018.
The timetable change on December 10, 2017 brought the next expansion of traffic:
- Freising district : after winning the tender, line 698 was operated
- District Erlangen-Höchstadt (Aisch): on line 204, part of the service will be provided on behalf of DB Frankenbus until August 30, 2019 .
The Würzburg deployment site was then able to expand its traffic on January 8, 2018 through a service commissioned by DB Frankenbus on line 19 from Würzburg to Güntersleben.
