The Ruhr Reggae Summer has been an annual music festival in the Ruhr area since 2007 . Mainly reggae , dancehall and afrobeat are played.
The festival started with 6,000 visitors. In 2011 there were 15,000 visitors, down to 12,000 in 2012.
In 2013 there were two events for the first time under the name Ruhr Reggae Summer : In May in the Revierpark Wischlingen in Dortmund with 8,000 visitors and in July in the Ruhrstadion Mülheim with around 15,000 visitors.
