Rehling is located on the Friedberger Ach just a few kilometers northeast of the Fugger city of Augsburg .

history

Rehling was the seat of the closed Hofmark Scherneck of the barons of Mayr, from 1823 of the barons of Schaezler on Scherneck.

In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1818, Rehling became an independent political municipality.

Population development

Between 1988 and 2019 the municipality grew from 2,034 to 2,581 by 547 inhabitants or by 26.9%.

The municipal council consists of the 1st mayor and 14 councilors. Due to the election of March 15, 2020 , CSU / citizens have eleven seats for Rehling (78%); the free voters have three seats (22%).
