The Zamilapark is a settlement in the Munich district of Zamdorf .

location

Zamilapark is located north of Eggenfeldener Straße and between Lüderitzstraße and the Munich East – Munich Airport railway line . To the north of the settlement there is a park that forms the third and eastern section of Denninger Angers . It is sometimes referred to as Zamilapark itself . The colonial settlement lies west of the Zamilapark across Lüderitzstrasse .

The settlement has an extension of about 330 m in the north-south direction and about 450 m in the east-west direction. The total area is about 13 hectares.

Surname

The Zamilastraße, which has existed since 1956, gave the settlement its name. While the name of the district of Zamdorf comes from the male name Zamo , Zamila is a female name, which, like Zamo, is derived from zam = tame, mild.

history

The Zamilapark was built from 1983 to 1991 by Bayerische Hausbau Josef Schörghubers , the architects were Bernd Obersteiner and the architecture office Wiegelt & Partner Munich. There were discussions about the acquisition of the former urban land by Schörghuber under the heading “building land present”, which were reflected in the press.

Subsequently, by 1993, the eastern part of Denninger Angers, north of the settlement, was expanded with a lake, meadows, a geological garden and a sports facility.

In the west, Zamilapark consists of two- to four-story residential buildings that are arranged in a horseshoe or S-shape around green inner courtyards. There are a total of around 1200 apartments here. The streets are also green, so that the settlement has a park-like character, which is also reflected in its name.

In the eastern part along the railway line there are office buildings that serve around 2000 employees. There is also a shopping center with a supermarket, bistro, restaurant and medical practice.
