Pliers (heraldry)
The pincer is a common figure in heraldry and is represented very differently in the coat of arms . The multitude of pliers, as produced by handicraft, is reduced to flat-nosed pliers or pincers (round jaws) and is limited to the location and tincture in the coat of arms or coat of arms field . A good description of the coat of arms mentions the open jaws of the pliers, because a closed jaw is assumed to be the agreed standard. The same applies to the vertical position in the shield with the jaws facing the head of the shield . The representation of the heraldic figure is often done in combination with other figures. All heraldic colors are possible.
The pliers are also suitable for talking coats of arms . Example is the family of the Zenger , in the upper arms resulted in a repetition of the pliers from the coat of arms.
The pincers are shown in the forge's guild coat of arms . Likewise in the municipal coat of arms of Amerang , as the pincers were the shield image of the noble lords of Amerang documented from the 12th to the 14th century .
Thanstein (flat nose pliers)
Tangstedt (Pinneberg district) (pliers with round jaws)
Storfors (municipality) (two round jawed pliers, right Z. fell)
