Zangmeisterstraße 26
The building with the address Zangmeisterstraße 26 is a former dyer's house directly at the Westertor in the old town in the Swabian town of Memmingen .
The five-storey eaves house has five axes. A new building from 1461 is documented. The top floor is provided with an open framework. This used to be used by the dye works to dry the workpieces. The third and fourth floors protrude slightly. The eastern part of the ground floor is divided into groin-vaulted rooms. On the first floor there is an oak column with notched carvings from the 16th to 17th centuries.
On April 25, 2019, the owner noticed that the roof structure showed considerable damage, whereupon the house and eight surrounding buildings were evacuated immediately. Towards evening the building was to be brought down in a controlled manner. Later it was decided to collapse only the roof structure, the other floors of the building were safe.
