Zaoyang

The city of Zaoyang ( Chinese 枣阳 市 , Pinyin Zǎoyáng Shì ) is an independent city in the province of Hubei in central China, which is part of the administrative area of the independent city of Xiangyang . It has an area of 3,277 km² and has 1.1 million inhabitants.
The Neolithic Diaolongbei site (Diaolongbei yuzhi 雕龙 碑 遗址) and the Jiuliandun tombs (Jiuliandun muqun 九 连 墩 墓群) have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China since 1996 and 2006, respectively .
