Xiangzhou (Xiangyang)

The municipality of Xiangzhou ( Chinese  襄州 区 , Pinyin Xiāngzhōu Qū ), until 2010 Xiangyang ( Chinese  襄阳区 , Pinyin Xiāngyáng Qū ), is a municipality in the Hubei Province in central China, which belongs to the administrative area of ​​the district-free city of Xiangyang . Xiangzhou is home to historical Xiangyang from the time of the Western Han Dynasty . The district has an area of ​​2,306 km² and has 1,056,936 inhabitants (end of 2004). Its main town is the Zhangwan (张 湾 街道) street district .
