Zbigniew Łowżył

Zbigniew Łowżył (born March 18, 1965 in Breslau ) is a Polish composer, drummer, pianist and music teacher.

Łowżył studied drums at the Wroclaw Music Academy until 1988 . From 1988 to 2004 he was an assistant at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan . There he taught drums in the instrumental department, jazz and pop music at the Institute for Music Theory and Composition, and from 1999 to 2002 piano improvisation at the Faculty of Music Education and Rhythmics. He also took on teaching activities and a. at the International Art Center in Poznan, at the Center for Contemporary Art Schloss Ujadzowski, at the Zamek Cultural Center in Poznan and at ArtTrans in Frankfurt (Oder).

In addition to several music ensembles such as MaidenVoyage , DrumMachina , Bracia Karamazow and Poznański Zespół Perkusyjny , he founded and heads the Puls i Rytm studio and the Totem Association of Artists and Art Lovers , which is dedicated to promoting art and art education. As a founder, director and active artist, he was involved in several interdisciplinary art events such as Atmosfery (Łódź-Posen-Berlin, 1995), Warsztaty artystyczne Zamek Ujazdowski (Warsaw, 1998 and 2000) and Muzyka Świata (Poznan, 2001-2004).

He took part repeatedly in the International Theater Festival in Malta, the project Lacher de violons 2000 with the French theater TranseExpress was also shown in the Center Pompidou . His own works in the field of Autio-Art were u. a. presented at the Audio Art Festival in Krakow, at the Baitz with Sound Festival and at the Musical Spring in Poznan. He was awarded the Młodej Sztuki Medal and the Nagrod Marszałka Województwa Pomorskiego (for his incidental music for Antygona , 1999).
