Ewa Wycichowska (* 1949 in Poznan ) is a Polish ballet dancer and choreographer.

Life

Wycichowska attended the ballet school in Poznan until 1969 and graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw in 1982 with a degree in dance education . Her teachers included Nina Bielikowa , Aleksander Sobol and Robert Cohen . She also studied modern ballet at the Academie Internationale de la Danse in Paris and at the Nederlanden Dans Theater . In 1988 she succeeded Conrad Drzewiecki as artistic director of the Polski Teatr Tańca - Balet Poznański .

Her repertoire as a dancer included classical roles such as Juliet in Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet (1969), Lise in Ferdinand Hérold's La fille mal gardée (1973) and the title roles in Aram Chatschaturjan's Gayaneh (1975) and Adolphe Adams Giselle (1979) such as roles in modern dance, including the Medea in Juliusz Łuciuk's musical performance (1982) and roles in Mieczysław Karłowicz's Interpretacjach (1983) and Krzysztof Penderecki's Capriccio na choreografa (1988). Since 1980 she has also been working as a choreographer. Wycichowska was awarded the Gloria Artis Medal for cultural merits .
