Bronisław Kazimierz Przybylski

Bronisław Kazimierz Przybylski (born December 11, 1941 in Łódź , † April 4, 2011 in Łódź) was a Polish composer and music teacher.

Przybylski studied music theory with Franciszek Wesołowski (diploma 1964) and composition with Tomasz Kiesewetter (diploma 1969) at the State Music Academy in Łódź . He continued his composition studies with Bolesław Szabelski in Katowice and with Roman Haubenstock-Ramati at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (1975–76). From 1963 he taught at the State University of Music in Łódź, where he was Vice Rector for Academic Affairs (1978–81) and Dean of the Faculty of Composition, Music Theory and Rhythmics (1987–90). In 1991 he was appointed professor for composition and in 1992 a full professorship and in 1982 founded the Akademie Musica Moderna .

His works have been performed at numerous festivals for new music and have received awards. He received awards from the Polish Ministry of Culture (1974, 1980, 1981), the badge of honor of the city of Łódź, the silver and gold Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland and the Commander's Cross of the Polonia Restituta Order .
