Krzesimir Marcin Dębski (born October 26, 1953 in Wałbrzych ) is a Polish jazz violinist, composer and conductor .

Life

Dębski studied music at the Poznan Music Academy . During his studies, the violinist came into contact with the Polish jazz scene. First he played in the band of Kazimierz Jonkisz . As the founder and band leader of the band String Connection , he has caused a sensation at numerous festivals at home and abroad since 1980 and has been one of the best jazz violinists on the international jazz scene. As early as 1985, the US jazz magazine Down Beat selected him as one of the top ten best jazz violinists in the world. Since 1986 he has been mainly concerned with his own compositions. In addition to his jazz pieces, he has now created over 40 symphonic works and numerous film scores. As a conductor he led international orchestras and worked with artists such as José Carreras and Nigel Kennedy .
