Pál Vasvári

Pál Vasvári (* 26. May 1957 in Budapest ; † 23. June 2016 ) was a Hungarian jazz - bassist , composer and music producer . He played the electric bass as well as the double bass .

Life

Vasvári studied double bass at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest and graduated there in 1981. From 1979 he was a professional jazz musician and initially played as a bassist with the Bacillus group and the Kőszegi Quartet . In 1984 he founded his first band and intensified composing and arranging. In 1986 the Magyar Jazz Quartet was formed together with the pianist Béla Szakcsi Lakatos . In 2000 he founded the Vasvári String Trio together with the violinist Frankie Látó and the guitarist Miklós Birta . He worked regularly on stage and in the studio with foreign musicians such as Dave Samuels , Alex Acuña , Russell Ferrante and Mike Stern . His album Outsider by the Pál Vasvari and the Soul Six Band was released in 2011.
