The magic tree (original title Magiczne drzewo ) is a Polish children's series that was produced by Andrzej Maleszka from 2003 to 2006 . The German premiere took place on 1 October 2006 at Ki.Ka .

In 2007, the series won the Emmy in the category "Children and Youth Programs". The episode The Sled won the 2007 Children's Jury Award at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival .

The magical tree tells that an enchanted oak was felled and processed into various everyday objects, such as a cube or a pencil. These items have been sent all over the world. Each episode is about a child who comes into possession of such an enchanted object that slowly unfolds its effect.

The episodes are modern fairy tales for children. Four of the seven episodes take place at Christmas , so the series is mostly repeated during Advent.

Motion picture

The series was followed by a 90-minute film , which opened on September 18, 2009 in Poland. The film was not translated into German. Although there was no official German theatrical release, some cinemas showed the Polish original with spoken German comments. The subject dealt with in the film is a red wooden chair.
