Stein (Krain) district

The Stein district ( Slovene Okraj Kamnik ) was a political district in the Duchy of Carniola . The district included parts of Oberkrain . The seat of the district administration was the municipality of Stein in Krain ( Kamnik ).

The area was added to Yugoslavia after the First World War under the Treaty of Saint-Germain in 1919 and has been part of the Republic of Slovenia since 1991 .

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg monarchy were created in 1867/68 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The Stein district was formed on March 10, 1867 from the Stein ( Slovene Sodni okraj Kamnik ) and Egg ( Brdo ) judicial districts .

38,204 people lived in the Stein district in 1869, with 6,311 houses in the district.

The district had a present population of 39,079 people in 1880, with 38,400 people giving Slovene and 266 people German as the colloquial language.

In 1910 39,561 people were expelled from the district, of whom 38,971 spoke Slovene (98.5%) and 481 German (1.2%).

Due to the border regulations of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , concluded on September 10, 1919 , the Stein district was completely added to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
