Adelsberg district

The Adelsberg district ( Slovene Okrajiio glavarstvo Postojna ) was a political district in the Duchy of Carniola . The district included parts of Lower Carniola . The seat of the district administration was the municipality of Adelsberg ( Postojna ).

The area was added to Yugoslavia after the First World War under the Treaty of Saint-Germain in 1919 and has been part of the Republic of Slovenia since 1991 .

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg monarchy were created in 1867/68 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The district of Adelsberg was formed on March 10, 1867 from the judicial districts of Adelsberg ( Slovene Sodnijski okraj Postojna ), Illyrisch-Feistritz ( Ilirska Bistrica ), Senosetsch ( Senožeče ) and Wippach ( Vipava ).

In 1869, 41,225 people lived in the Adelsberg district, with 6,785 houses in the district.

The district had a present population of 41,503 people in 1880, with 41,076 people giving Slovene and 268 people German as the colloquial language.

In 1910, 43,200 people were expelled from the district, of whom 42,807 spoke Slovene (99.1%) and 121 German (0.3%).

Due to the border regulations of the Treaty of Saint-Germain concluded on September 10, 1919 , the district of Adelsberg was completely added to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
