The modern political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created around 1868 in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration.

The Radmannsdorf district was formed on March 10, 1867 from the Radmannsdorf (Slovenian: Sodnijski okraj Radovljica ) and Kronau ( Kranjska Gora ) judicial districts .

In the Radmannsdorf district in 1869 there were 26,795 people, with 4,175 houses in the district.

The district had a present population of 26,180 people in 1880, with 25,020 people reporting Slovene and 998 people using German as the colloquial language.

In 1910 34,028 people were expelled for the district, of whom 31,917 spoke Slovene (93.8%) and 1,690 German (5.0%).

Due to the border regulations of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , which was concluded on September 10, 1919 , the Radmannsdorf district was completely added to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
