Zbigniew Olech

Zbigniew Olech (born June 22, 1940 in Lemberg , † April 26, 2008 in Breslau ) was a Polish boxer .

He was the twin brother of the two-time Olympic runner-up Artur Olech († 2010), with whom he competed in light weight classes. He was three times Polish flyweight champion (1959, 1961 and 1964). He twice won the so-called "Spartakiade Gwardyjska" (1962 and 1964). In 1961 he took part in the European Championships in Belgrade , where he reached the quarter-finals in the flyweight division. Almost during his entire sports career he competed for the club "Gwardie Wrocław". After the end of his sporting career, he worked in the rank of officer in the police in Wroclaw.

He married on September 6, 1980. The marriage had three children.
