Zdeněk Psotka (born November 18, 1973 in Olomouc ) is a former Czech soccer player and current soccer coach .

Player career

Psotka began his career with Sokol Nedvězí. At the age of 13, the goalkeeper switched to Sigma Olmütz . In the spring of 1992 he was number two behind Luboš Přibyl after substitute goalkeeper Martin Vaniak was injured. In the following years, however, Psotka couldn't get past the Přibyl-Vaniak duo. He moved to SK Litovel, in the 1994/95 season he played for the then second division club ČSK Uherský Brod .

After that, the goalkeeper concentrated primarily on his university studies. After injuring his shoulder, Sigma Olmütz gave him the opportunity to start as an assistant coach for the B team.

Coaching career

After a season as an assistant to the B-Team, Psotka coached Sigma's juniors in the 1999/00 season. From 2000 to 2005 Psotka was the head coach of the B team, with whom he rose to the 2nd division in 2000/01 . The former goalkeeper has coached the club's A-Juniors since 2005 and was also the head of the entire junior department.

For the 2008/09 season Psotka signed a three-year contract with the professionals of Sigma Olomouc.
