Zdravko Marjanović

Zdravko Marjanović (* 1941 with Bosanski Petrovac ) is a Serbian peace activist .

He studied electrical engineering at the University of Belgrade and graduated with a diploma as an electrical engineer . Between 1966 and 1968 he taught at the secondary school in Bačka Palanka .

He was chairman of the Association of Radio Amateurs of Yugoslavia and resisted attempts to use the media to generate hatred in preparation for wars during the fragmentation of Yugoslavia.

In 1994 he founded a peace group in Bačka Palanka. The first actions of the “Society for Tolerance” were poster campaigns with calls against the war.

In 1995 he founded his own newspaper Tolerancija (Tolerance). The newspaper's motto is: We teach and learn the richness and beauty of life in diversity , the message is: Tolerance means life . Peace activities are reported in the newspaper. As a result, he worked with various peace groups.

Since the Yugoslav Wars he has led groups and workshops for the rapprochement of Serbs , Bosniaks and Croats .

In 2009 he received the Aachen Peace Prize for his peace work .
