In the coal mine Alwine in Bochum district Stiepel was until the second half of the 19th century coal mining Eisenstein operated. In 1833 the mutation took place in the later field Leonhard. On October 12, 1841, was carried out ceremony of the Sub-length field Alwine, the mine went into operation.

On December 20, 1849, another length field was awarded . In 1855 the mine was in time and again from 1858 on. From the 4th quarter of 1861 the mine was out of order.
