The Zeche Bochum is an event multiplex with a disco in Bochum. It opened in November 1981 and was one of the pioneers in the concept of socio-cultural centers. Your premises with event, eating and dance areas are located in the former locksmith's shop of the Zeche Prinz Regent in Bochum 's Wiemelhausen district .

Initially, events in the Bochum colliery were partly publicly funded with cultural recognition, but it had to be commercially self-sufficient from the start. The music direction was initially committed to the underground of the punk and pop & wave movement; later they switched to rock, metal, pop, blues and mainstream. The Bochum colliery has been a regular venue for concerts from the start. Artists such as Tina Turner, Depeche Mode, REM, Herbert Grönemeyer, Rammstein, Volbeat, Mark Foster, Die Ärzte, Die Toten Hosen or Revolverheld have already played in this cult location. In the meantime there are well over 4,500 concerts that have been held in the Bochum colliery.

The interior includes a large event hall with a gallery, a small hall, a restaurant, a beer garden and a cocktail bar.

In addition to the regular concerts, disco events of various kinds take place on Fridays and Saturdays.

In 2015, the Bochum colliery won the "Live Entertainment Award" as the best club of 2014.
