The Gottessegen colliery in Durchholz is a former hard coal mine . The colliery was also known under the names Zeche Gottes Segen , Zeche Gottes Seegen and Zeche Gottessegen Judge Herbede . The colliery was to the west of today's Durchholzer Straße and south of the Am Pattberg settlement. Very little is known about the Gottessegen mine in Witten.
Mining history
On August 29 of the year 1758 was presumption placed on an old mine in Röllenbecker Siepen. On June 3, 1760, two length fields were awarded , after which the mine went into operation. The pit field was measured in 1774 and the mine was still in operation. In 1787 the mine was registered in the “Carte Speciale des mines du District de Wetter” by Niemeyer. In the year 1824 the colliery was initially still in operation, on July 8 of the same year it was consolidated with the colliery Harmonie .
What is left
In Durchholz there are still a few pings that probably come from the Gottessegen mine. The pings are located on a forest path west of Durchholzer Straße and north of the crossroad.
