The Harmonie colliery in Durchholz is a former hard coal mine . The mine was also called United Harmony colliery from 1824 to 1837 . The Harmonie colliery has a mining history of over a hundred years. In the second half of the 18th century, near-surface mining was carried out on the mine .

history

On June 3, 1760, the Längenfeld Harmony was awarded . In 1824 , the mines Melchior, Neue Gottessegen, Gottessegen , Neue St. Melchior and the muted field United Elisabeth consolidated into the Harmonie colliery. However, the consolidated mine was not in operation. On March 14, 1836, the quarter field was awarded to Elisabeth. From March 1838 the colliery was put into operation and it was started to drive a tunnel in the Pleßbachtal . In 1839 was Schacht Johann in promotion . The shaft had a depth of 33 meters and was tonnlägig the seam created. In 1845 the Theodor and Caspar pits were in operation. In the years 1854, 1857 and 1869 the colliery was demonstrably in operation, after which it was probably put in time limits . Around 1873 the Harmonie colliery was sold to the Elisabethenglück colliery . In 1908 the legal rights were taken over by the United Adolar colliery . The remaining coal reserves still present in the Harmonie field were extracted by modern mines.

Promotion and workforce

The first known production figures come from the year 1839, at that time a production of 6980⅝ Prussian tons of hard coal was provided. In 1842 the production sank to 4,198 Prussian tons. In 1845, 3742 tons of hard coal were extracted with 22 miners . This corresponds to a man and shift output of 0.6 tons per man and shift. These are the last known production and workforce figures for the mine.

Current condition

To the north of the street Zum Pleßbach there is an old Rösche on the former small railway line on Pleßbachweg . This rose, which used to connect the tunnel opening of the Harmonie colliery with the Pleßbach, is one of the last remnants of the old Harmonie colliery. Today water still flows from the rose into the Pleßbach.
