Muvumba is a city in the Eastern Province of Rwanda on the border with Uganda . It is 1527 meters above sea level.

history

During the genocide in Rwanda in 1994 was Onesphore Rwabukombe mayor of Muvumba. Rwabukombe, who had lived in Germany with his family for a number of years, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Frankfurt am Main Higher Regional Court in December 2015 for his significant involvement in it.
