The Kucks colliery in Essen-Werden -Hamm is a former hard coal mine . It was also known under the name of Zeche Kux .
Mining history
Hard coal was extracted from the mine as early as the 18th century , but without a loan. In 1802, 28 ringlets were extracted every day . In 1803 the mine was demonstrably in operation. In 1805, shaft 8 was mined. In 1811 were shafts 7 and 8 in the promotion . In 1813, shafts 5 and 7 were in production. In 1817 the Fortuna shaft was mined. In 1819 the Christina and Maas shafts were in production. The only known workforce figures come from this year; 13 miners were employed at the mine. In 1820 the Kucks colliery consolidated with the Schinkenbank colliery in Fischlaken to form the United Kucks & Ham Bank colliery .
