The Leveringsbank colliery was a hard coal mine in the Sprockhövel district of Hiddinghausen . The colliery was also known as the Levringsbank colliery and has a history of over 180 years.

Mining history

A length field was awarded on July 23, 1694 . The survey was carried out in 1735 . In 1818 the deposit was opened up from light hole 19 of the Stock & Scherenberger Erbstollen . In 1820 Schacht Theodor was in promotion . In 1825 Schacht Lina was in production. In 1830 the Gustav and Ende pits were in production. In 1835 the Mathilde shaft was in operation. At the end of March 1838, the Leveringsbank colliery was shut down. This shutdown lasted at least until 1847. In 1855 the mine was in operation, but no extraction took place. In 1863 the mine was demonstrably in operation. In 1865 the mine was through the dirt bankers Erbstollen solved . In 1867 it came to the union with the colliery rabbits for colliery Leveringsbank & rabbit . In 1871 the two mines consolidated below the bottom of the tunnel with further mines to form the Germany mine . In the years 1875 and 1876 the mine was out of order. In 1877 mining was again carried out. In 1879 the coal supplies were almost depleted. In 1881 the Leveringsbank colliery was closed.

Promotion and workforce

The first production figures are given for the year 1830, in that year 2795 tons of hard coal were produced . In 1835, 2261 tons of hard coal were mined. In 1838, 1530 Prussian tons of hard coal were mined. In 1867 3916 tons of hard coal were mined. In 1871 the production rose to 4624 tons of hard coal. The only known workforce figures come from the year 1873, in that year six miners were employed at the colliery who produced 3919 tons of hard coal. In 1877 669 tons of hard coal were mined. In 1879, production fell again to 491 tons of hard coal. The last known production figures of the mine come from the year 1880, 374 tons of hard coal were produced.

United Leveringsbank & Rabbits

In 1867 the two collieries, Leveringsbank and United Rabbits, were merged to form the United Leveringsbank & Rabbit colliery. Despite the merger, both mines continued to be run separately. After the consolidation to the Zeche Deutschland in 1871, both mines continued to be dismantled. In 1880, the coal reserves in the United Rabbits field section were depleted, for this reason it was closed. A year later, the coal reserves in the Leveringsbank part of the field were also depleted and this part was also shut down. In 1889 the entire right went to the Zeche Deutschland.
