The Neue Aproche colliery is a former hard coal mine in Essen-Burgaltendorf . The colliery was also known under the names Zeche Neue Approche and Zeche Neue Aprosche .
Mining history
On January 7th, 1752, a length field next to the Alte Aproche colliery was awarded . After the award, the mine was put into operation. The mine was in operation from 1754 to 1769. On May 8, 1764, an extension for the Längenfeld was awarded. In 1775 the mine was still in operation, after which the mine was not mentioned in the documents for several years. In 1794 the mine was entered on the Niemeyer's map . At that time , the mine had two tunnels that reached from the Ruhr meadows to the west of the Altendorf castle ruins . In October 1820 it was merged with the Große Varstbank colliery to form the Große Varstbank & Neue Aproche colliery. On July 19, 1825, the united field was dismantled , for this reason the union was dissolved again. On April 7, 1832, a small length field was awarded. In 1842 the mine was only mentioned in the documents. There is evidence that the mine was in operation in 1848. In 1855 , the Neue Aproche colliery consolidated below the bottom of the tunnel to form the Altendorf Tiefbau colliery . In 1872 the mine was initially still in operation, after which the mine was decommissioned. In 1876 the Neue Aproche colliery was closed.
Promotion and workforce
The first known workforce at the mine dates back to 1754, when six miners were employed at the mine. The first known production figures of the mine come from the year 1867, when 14 tons of hard coal were produced. In 1869, 16 miners extracted 5,212 tons of hard coal. The last known figures for the mine are from 1872, when 1275 tons of hard coal were extracted.
