The Silberbank colliery is a former hard coal mine in Essen-Werden -Hamm. The mine was already in operation before 1800 without a loan.

Mining history

The mine was in operation in 1802, and 96 ringlets of hard coal were extracted from the mine every day . After that, the mine was in operation for some time until it was shut down in 1804. On September 9, 1813, the mine was put back into operation. In the following time the old mine workings were cleared . In 1815, the well was in Hermann promotion . At that time Mathias Stinnes was one of the mines' trades . Six miners were employed in 1820 , and mining began again from this time . In 1826 the Elise shaft was mined in the area. In the first half of 1830, mining was still carried out and 4806 bushels of hard coal were mined. At the end of June of the same year, the Silberbank colliery was finally shut down.
