The United Knappschaft & Vogelsang colliery is a former coal mine in what is now Wetter-Albringhausen . The colliery was located in the area of ​​today's streets Zechenweg and Am Overberge and emerged from the consolidation of several independent collieries.

Mining history

As early as 1787, the mine was entered under this name on the map of Niemeyer. On May 8, 1804, the mines Knappschaft and Vogelsang 2 consolidated to form the United Knappschaft & Vogelsang colliery. A tunnel excavated to the south served to drain the mine field of the colliery. In addition, the neighboring fields were drained via these tunnels, in particular the western part of the later mine field of the United Schlebusch colliery. In the same year, work began on aligning the pit field in the sunk shaft . In January 1807 the mine was closed. On February 2, 1811, the colliery was put back into operation and work started on its refurbishment. Subsequently, dismantling began. There is evidence that mining was carried out in 1815. The August shaft was in operation in 1820. On November 6, 1825, the United Knappschaft & Vogelsang colliery was shut down again. On May 24 of 1848, which was square box New Miners & Vogelsang awarded . In addition, the square for caution was awarded as an attachment. After the award, the colliery was probably back in operation for a time. On May 13th of the year 1859 and on November 13th of the year 1860 the consolidation to the United Schlebusch colliery took place.

The Knappschaft colliery was a coal mine in Wetter-Albringhausen. Little is known about the mine. The survey was carried out in 1786 . A length field was awarded on February 23, 1788 . Following this, dismantling was carried out. In 1795 a shaft began to be sunk. A shaft was also sunk in 1802, but it is not clear from the documents whether it is the same shaft. On May 8, 1804, the company was consolidated into the United Knappschaft & Vogelsang colliery.

Vogelsang

The Vogelsang colliery was a hard coal mine in Wetter-Albringhausen, and little is reported about this mine either. The survey was carried out in 1786. A length field was awarded on February 23, 1788, after which the mine was in operation. It is not clear how long the mine was in operation. On May 8, 1804, the company was consolidated into the United Knappschaft & Vogelsang colliery.
