Tenth state

The term tenth federal state is used in Austria to describe:

  • the reclamation of agricultural land in Austria after the Second World War, v. a. by draining moors and swamps, the great importance of which for nature and species protection was not recognized at the time.
  • the part of Tyrol that has belonged to Italy since 1919, see South Tyrol
  • a sub-organization of the party The Greens - The Green Alternative to the intra-party representation of the allochthonous and autochthonous minorities
  • z. Sometimes also the Austrians abroad (however, people are never a country).
