The journal for civil service law (abbreviated: ZBR ) is a legal journal in which decisions and articles on civil service law and public service law are published.

The magazine has been published monthly by Kohlhammer Verlag since 1952 . The editor is Matthias Pechstein . The print run is 1,800 copies (as of 2013).

It was founded and largely continued by Karl F. Fees, Walter Grabendorff, Otto von Werder and Rudolf Summer , with the support of Ernst Forsthoff , Herbert Krüger and Carl Hermann Ule .

A magazine of the same name, founded by Jacques Abraham and continued by Carl Heyland, appeared between 1928 and 1935; this was renamed in 1936 to the magazine for civil servants and official employees' law and discontinued in 1943.
