Journal of Cultural Philosophy
The Zeitschrift für Kulturphilosophie (formerly Dialektik ) has been published by Ralf Konersmann (University of Kiel), John Michael Krois (†, Humboldt University Berlin) and Dirk Westerkamp (University of Kiel) at Felix Meiner Verlag since 2007 . From 2020 it will be published by Ralf Becker , Christian Bermes (both University of Koblenz-Landau ) and Dirk Westerkamp (University of Kiel). The magazine appears twice a year, with each issue devoted to a key topic.
Brief description
The journal for cultural philosophy is located at the interface between philosophy and cultural studies. 'Culture' is understood as an independent term to which the individual contributions address themselves from different perspectives. The Zeitschrift für Kulturphilosophie sees itself as an organ that seeks to combine the (practical) impact on cultural reality with (theoretical) work on the conceptual. It thus overcomes academic disciplinary boundaries as well as those between different areas of public life.
The Zeitschrift für Kulturphilosophie gathers articles that see themselves as critical voices from and about cultural events and helps to classify controversies. By focusing each issue on one focus, it outlines debates or helps culturally relevant topics to raise their profile within the public discourse.
