Ralf Becker (philosopher)

Ralf Becker (born June 2, 1975 in Lahnstein ) has been Professor of Philosophy at the University of Koblenz-Landau since 2016 .

Life

After graduating from high school in Lahnstein (today Marion-Dönhoff-Gymnasium), Becker studied philosophy, psychology and German at the University of Trier from 1994 to 1998 , where he also received his doctorate in 2002. In 1997 he was accepted into the German National Academic Foundation . He completed his habilitation in 2010 at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel .

After substitute professorships in Kiel and Jena , he held the visiting professorship at the Humboldt Study Center for Philosophy and Humanities at Ulm University from 2012 to 2015 , where he was appointed Academic Councilor in 2015. Z. was appointed. In 2016 he was appointed professor of philosophy at the University of Koblenz-Landau (Landau campus). He also held teaching positions at the Universities of Chemnitz and Witten / Herdecke as well as at the Muthesius Academy of Art in Kiel, where he represented the professorship for cultural and media studies in the 2010/11 winter semester.

Beckers research areas form philosophical anthropology , culture philosophy , philosophy of science (with an emphasis on the life sciences ) phenomenological theory of knowledge , Hermeneutik and Term History .

Awards
