ASL Aviation Holdings is an aviation company based in Dublin , Ireland . The company is wholly owned by Star Capital Partners , based in London , United Kingdom . ASL stands for Airlines, Support and Leasing .

The group consists of several companies , including eight airlines , maintenance companies and a number of leasing companies. ASL's airlines operate under their own brands and also operate passenger and cargo flights for major international customers, including express cargo companies and passenger airlines. The group has a fleet of around 140 aircraft consisting of 12 aircraft types, from Boeing 747-400 freighters to the smaller ATR 42 turbo props.

In 2017, ASL's airlines carried 3,283,928 passengers and 564,222 tons of cargo on flights with a total of 202,080 hours.

history

The company was founded in 2008. In mid-2016, the takeover of TNT Airways and PAN Air Líneas Aéreas by the ASL Aviation Group was announced. With this, ASL Aviation Group is continuing the previous major orders from TNT Express to TNT Airways. The takeover of TNT by FedEx has now been approved, but TNT Airways had to be surrendered before the transaction was closed.

In February 2019, the shareholders Compagnie Maritime Belge (51%) and 3P Airfreighters (49%) sold the company to Star Capital Partners.
