Zeke Manyika

Zeke Manyika (born February 23, 1955 in Zimbabwe ) is a musician and drummer .

The musician Zeke Manyika, who moved to Great Britain from Rhodesia (today's Zimbabwe) in the 1970s, joined the Scottish band Orange Juice in 1982 . He played drums there until the band broke up and also took part in some of the pieces. a. also on the single "Rip it up", which made it to number 8 in the UK charts. 1983 Manyika played the drums on three tracks for the album Soul Mining by the British band The The . He contributed his vocals to the track Giant , as well as to later albums by The The.

In 1989 Manyika released the solo CD Mastercrime . The release Bible Belt was produced by Matt Johnson .

In 2017 he played the drums in The The 's single We Can't Stop What's Coming , which was released on the occasion of Record Store Day .
