The Zelkingers were an old noble family in what is now Lower and Upper Austria .

history

The parent company stood on the slope of the Hiesberg near the village of Zelking , today's Zelking castle ruins . Around 1100, Wernher von Zelking is mentioned in a document as the owner of the family castle. The sex is said to be older and related to the Schlierbach am Rhein family, this has not been documented. They first had the Zelking ruins as a Regensburg fiefdom, later it was their property.
