Zeller mill

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zeller mill is a listed mill in the municipality of Schraplau in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the mill is listed as a monument under registration number 094 09058 .

The Zeller mill is a former water mill with a courtyard on the Weida . It is located on Zellerstrasse , which it is named after, at numbers 29, 31, 33 and 35, north of the castle . The watermill was the most important mill in the Schraplau area and had the exclusive grinding rights of the small town, which made its owners, the Steller family, very prosperous. The family continued to erect buildings and had their own mausoleum in the Schraplau cemetery, which has been preserved to this day. The appearance of the water mill today is more like an industrial mill with a mill yard. After the Mühlenhof had stood empty for several years and continued to deteriorate, the house was sold and renovated.
