Central allowance office for retirement assets

The Central Subsidy Agency for Old Age Assets ( ZfA ), based in the city of Brandenburg an der Havel, is an administrative unit of the German Federal Pension Insurance , which carries out the tasks according to Section XI of the Income Tax Act (EStG).

Since January 1, 2002, the Old Age Assets Act has promoted the development of voluntary old-age provision through deduction of special expenses and / or through an old-age provision allowance (so-called “Riester pension”). The tasks associated with the pension allowance were assigned to what was then the Federal Insurance Agency for Salaried Employees (BfA) as the central body (“Central Allowance Agency for Retirement Assets”).

The main tasks of the ZfA are the calculation, control, payment and reclamation of allowances. In future, the ZfA will also be responsible for organizing the notification of pension receipts in accordance with Section 22a of the Income Tax Act .

The medium-sized and business association of the CDU / CSU demands that the tasks associated with the old-age provision allowance be transferred to the tax offices, which, according to local politicians, would have considerable effects on the city of Brandenburg. In July 2017, the Parliamentary State Secretary of Finance announced Michael Meister with the city that "calls for a restructuring of allowances Center under the company pension Support Act have not taken into consideration (BSRG)".
