Central Switzerland Audience Award for Literature

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Central Switzerland Audience Award for Literature was awarded from 1996 to 2003 by the Neue Luzerner Zeitung, including its regional editions, and by the Lucerne Literature Festival Association. Four authors were invited by the advisory board on the recommendation of the expert jury to submit a text, which was then published in a special supplement of the Neue Luzerner Zeitung and its regional editions. At least two of the invited authors should come from one of the six central Swiss cantons . The readers of the newspapers then chose the winner. The award was endowed with 5000 Fr. It was the only literary prize in the German-speaking area where newspaper readers determined the winners. The winner was announced at the Lucerne Literature Festival.
