Dominik Brun

Dominik Brun (born August 21, 1948 in Entlebuch ) is a Swiss writer and politician.

Life

Dominik Brun attended grammar school in Nuolen , where he passed his Matura . He then studied German and literature at the University of Bern . In 1975 he completed his studies with a degree . This was followed by stays abroad and teaching activities in London, Vienna and Montreal. From 1977 to 2010 he was a teacher at the grammar school in Engelberg . Between 1998 and 2007 he worked in the Cantonal Council of the Canton of Obwalden , and in 2006/07 he was President of the Cantonal Council . He has been Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Pro Senectute Obwalden since 2014 . Brun lives in Engelberg.

Dominik Brun is the author of narrative works, poems, dramas and radio plays; he partly writes in Swiss German .

Dominik Brun is a member of the Association of Authors of Switzerland and of the Central Swiss Writers' Association , of which he was President from 1985 to 1997.
