The Central Office for Agricultural Documentation and Information (ZADI) was the knowledge and technology transfer facility of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV) based in Bonn until it was dissolved on May 31, 2007 . The ZADI was, although not a research institution itself, a member of the working group of departmental research institutions . From 1989 to 1996 Anton Mangstl headed the central office, his successor and last director was Jan Mark Pohlmann.

With effect from June 1, 2007, the ZADI was dissolved as an independent authority and incorporated into the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (BLE) as a new group 42, continuing the old tasks.

Departments

The ZADI consisted of the three specialist departments

  • Information Center for Consumer Protection and Nutrition (IVE)
  • Agriculture and Forestry Information Center (ILF)
  • Information and Coordination Center for Biodiversity (IBV) (already incorporated into the BLE in January 2006 as a new section 513, continuing the old tasks).
