The fire protection center of the Bundeswehr ( ZBrdSchBw ) is a local authority in the business area of the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVg). It is directly subordinate to the Federal Office for Infrastructure, Environmental Protection and Services (IUD).
assignment
The Bundeswehr Fire Protection Center is responsible for ensuring defensive fire protection and technical assistance at Bundeswehr agencies where orders, reasons of confidentiality or special risk potential require the provision of a Bundeswehr fire brigade .
The tasks to be performed include the deployment of personnel, material, the organization of the necessary logistics as well as education and training. From its Sonthofen location, it manages a total of 58 fire brigades (as of 2020).
